Spend a Semester at the Georgia State Capitol!

The Georgia Legislative Intern Program is a full-time paid internship that lets students gain hands on experience during the legislative session with Government leaders. The session takes place from January to April each year. Students can locate information about the statewide program on the General Assembly's website. Dates and Deadlines for the 2026 Session: 
•    Wednesday, October 1St: Submit your application to the GCSU Coordinator for the GLIP
•    Wednesday, October 15th: Coordinators to submit all applications to the General Assembly
•    October 20 - 24: Candidate interviews in person at the Capitol
•    January 7 - 9: Orientation at the Capitol
•    Monday, January 12, 2026: First Day of the Legislative session

Academic Credit:
GLIP interns are required to be at the Capitol during regular working hours for the duration of the legislative session and will be unable to enroll in classes that meet during those hours.
